TMBG Interview with Au Contraire

Bangs: Au Contraire--what is your favorite They Might Be Giants song?
AC: The one about the 'don't cross the street in the middle in the middle, in the middle of the block."

B: Who is your favorite--John or John?
AC: John and John.
B: But, if you had to pick one--which would it be?
AC: TWO Johns.
B: Only pick one. Do you like the one with glasses or the skinny one?
AC: But, there are twos of them. I like both of them.

B: Where would you rather live--Cowtown, New York City, or Fibber Island?
A.C.: Fibber Island.
B: What do they do on Fibber Island?
AC: (blank stare)
B: Here on Fibber Island we strum rubber _______.
AC: Guitars.
B: Good. They fixed up the corner store like it was a night club......Man it's so loud in ______.
AC: Here.
B: Good.

B: What's your mommy's favorite song?
AC: The one about 'don't cross the street in the middle of the block.'

She's Actual Size: 6 Months

Number Three is 6 months old today.

In her short 6 months with us, we have become utterly smitten with her. And her red hair.

This gal is always smiling and happy.

She's quite accomplished at rolling over in both directions, playing with toys, eating solid food, drinking water from a cup (with help...), laughing all the time, babbling incessantly, and waking up precisely at (2)5 O' Clock AM on the dot each and every morning.

(She's older than she's ever been and now she's even older....and now she's even older.)

Mr. Potato Has a New Head

One wall of our toy room in Cowtown is pegboard--top to bottom, side to side.

Au Contraire found a new home for some of Mr P's parts.

Formal Introductions

Allow me to introduce you to our cast of crazy characters:

First we have Extra Savoir-Faire. (Click here for further explanation.)

He's mysterious. He's brilliant. He knows it all--even that he knows it all. He's a snappy dresser and likes fine automobiles. And he has been know to be a Supertaster.

Then we come to me--Bangs. I recently cut bangs. I haven't had them since junior high. I'm trying to give them a chance.

I'm also the mom and wife to ESF. I have many responsibilities. And actually, I am the boss of this whole operation we call our family. Also, I can cook. Just a little bit.

This is me with ESF. For me is was BB (Before Bangs), and for ESF, it was before he shaved his facial hair.

Moving along to our offspring...

This is our first born daughter. Her name is Au Contraire. (For obvious reasons...and sometimes we call her Boss of Me.) She zany. And only naughty sometimes.

Never a dull moment with AC.

This little guy below is Mr. Xcitement. He's full of energy and loves chocolate.

He's also very naughty. But because we like him, we keep him around.

This little red-head is Number Three. She's darling in every way.

She's not naughty yet. But she is very observant of her siblings, so she will be before too long.

Number Three loves, loves, loves her mom. And food. The end.

The photo cred goes to our beloved Au Contraire (the first born), who discovered she also has a penchant for photography like I do.

And sometimes she even likes me as much as Number Three does.
